Slope = [tex] \frac{Y2-Y1}{X2-X1} [/tex]
where X2 is the x-coordinate of the second ordered pair and X1 is the x-coordinate of the first ordered pair. Same applies for Y2 and Y1.

Now we just plug in.

[tex] \frac{-2 - (-3)}{0 - (-4)} [/tex]

which equals

[tex] \frac{1}{4} [/tex] which is your slope.
