Harry Truman was warned by his advisers that there would be a large number of casualties if the U.S attempted to invade Japan, so in order to avoid the loss of more lives, they decided to drop a bomb on Japan.

So, how does Harry Truman justify dropping the bomb on the Japanese? He said that he did it to avoid more deaths on both sides of the war.
