Use the slope formula to find the slope between the 2 points first. [tex]m= \frac{5-14.6}{5-1} [/tex], which gives us a slope of -2.4.  Use that slope and one of the points to find the y-intercept, b in y = mx + b.  5 = -2.4(5) + b, so 5=-12+b and b = 17.  We rewrite with that info to get a line that is y = -2.4x + 17
