The equation is put in slope intercept form which is y=mx+b

The slope is m and in this case it is -1/2.
To find the y intercept substitute in 0
for x then solve.
[tex]y = - \frac{ 1}{2} (0) + 7[/tex]
[tex]y = 7[/tex]

Hi!

So the slope formula is y = mx + b.

m is the slope

b is the y intercept

so in this case, -1/2 is m which is the slope

and 7 is b which is the y intercept

Hope this helps!!
