Your answer would be, I believe, Lewis, and Clark would travel along with a medicine chest, along their journey, the men would have intercourse, with the Sacagawea Indians, and would have contracted Syphilis, or Gonorrhea from the Sacagawea women. Some get treated, while others died from the diseases.
