Algebra find the missing value in the equation 3/12+1/12+?/12=1/2 so what is it?

it would be 2/12ths. Work : 1/2 = 6/12, 6/12 - (3/12 + 1/12) = 2/12.

The missing number is 2/12 because 3+1+2=6 and 6/12 is equal to 1/2
