147 is not a perfect square. The reason 147 is not a perfect square is because, we know that 144 is a perfect square because you can divide it by 12. So that means that your square root would be inbetween 12 and 13. If you multiple 12•12 you get 144. And if you multiply 13•13 you get 169. So neither of those numbers are equal 147 so 147 is NOT a square but the closest square root is 12.
