Steps to evaluate your statement:

1. If w = 5.7 and z = -2.9, you just plug the numbers into the equation, -4 w - 3z

2. Your equation should look like this: -4 ( 5.7 ) - 3 ( -2.9 )

3. Multiply -4 into the parentheses, also multiply -3 into the parentheses.

4. Your equation should look like this:  -22.8 + 8.7

5. Add -22.8 and 8.7

Your final answer should be: -14.1
