In "The Voyage of the James Caird" by Caroline Alexander, the author is aware of all the events that took place during James Caird's adventure from the diary of McNish and writings of the crew that he found. In this travesy James Caird and his crew face multiple eventualities in their small boat before reaching his destiny in South Georgia Islands.
