6x-3y=6

Substitute y = 2x + 5 to the second equation 6x - 3y = 6:

6x - 3(2x + 5) = 6             use distributive property

6x - (3)(2x) - (3)(5) = 6

6x - 6x - 15 = 6

-15 = 6    FALSE
