6.75

Multiply 5.25 times 3 which equals 15.75. thats what she wasted on bracelets. now from that subtract 4 dollars which is her change. Gives you the total of 19.75. now subract 40,  you have 20.25, thats what she wasted total on necklaces, divide that between 3 and your answer is 6.75
