A PARTICIPLE is a word created from a verb that has the function of an adjective and it adds a description or qualities of the antecedent. There are two types of participle, present (as in the sentence above; base verb+-ing) or past participle (base verb+ -ed –for regular verbs- and Irregular past participles verbs- for example “Known)
