The first is (my friend John is as sweet as sugar) so just compare something to a trait
My friend Adam is as tall as a willow tree.
My teacher, Mrs.Strate is as busy as a bee.
The panther is as black as coal.
My ice cream is as cold as ice.
These are only some examples but there are many more!
