Givens

d = 5m

r = 1 km/hour = [ 1000 m/1 km] * [1 hour / 3600 sec]

r = 0.2777777 ... m/s

t = ???

Formula

d = r * t

Solution

5 meters = 0.2777777 ... * t

t = 5 / 0.27777777

t = 18 seconds                  Answer

Time = (distance) / (speed)

Time = (5 m) / (1,000 m/hr)

Time = (5/1,000) (m•hr/m)

Time = 0.005 hr

Time = (0.005) • (3,600 sec)

Time = 18.0 seconds
