Sue’s car used 12 gallons of gas on a 300 mile trip. Jen’s car used 5 gallons of gas on a 140 mile trip. Whose car got more miles per gallon?

Answer:

Jen's car because if you divide 140 by 5 you get 28 and that's 28 miles per gallon. When you divide 300 by 12 you get 25 and that's 25 miles per gallon.
