From my perspective, sort of. Kings had nobles who had knights to help fight who were trained and skilled. Peasants (at the bottom) were kind of an added boost. They may have not had the fighting skills and weapons but they did help fight of the attacking groups. Actually, now I say yes :) I hope I some-what helped you
