1st fraction: -1/2

2nd fraction: 5/6

~To subtract, they must have the same denominator. So you must multiply -1/2 times 3 to match 5/6. You get -3/6, and then subtract that from 5/6. Since it's a negative number, you add it. You then get 8/6, simplify it down to 4/3~

Your answer is 4/3 (difference)
