The Bonus Army was a meeting of veterans of World War I and their families to protest in Washington in 1932, demanding the exchange of their certificates of service in cash, since many of them had been without work and the economic situation was very difficult . Finally, the protesters were forcibly expelled and their shelters and belongings were burned.
