Impaired sensation can be a temporary occurence that takes place after a injury or a chronic condition. That's the result of diabetes or an other illness.

Well there 3 different areas that your sense of touch can be impaired which are

1. Peripheral nerves (diabetic or alcoholic neuropathy)

2. Spinal cord (paraplegia, herniated disc)

3. Brain (stoke, brain tumor)
