height of cone = height of triangle

Area of triangle

Area = 1/2(h)(b)

here h = height of triangle

        b = base of triangle

A = 40ft²

Since the section is 2 similar triangles back to back around the vertical centre so the area cross sectional area of triangle form in the cone is 2(40)ft² = 80ft²
