what's the difference between circumference and the area of a circle?​

The circumference is the distance around the circle, and can be represented with one dimension, aka inches, centimeters, etc. (although really in two).

The area is the space the circle fills up, and is represented in two dimensions, aka inches², squared centimeters, etc.

Answer: The circumference is the outside perimeter of the circle. The area is the total area inside the circle.
