Some people are affected by grief because they maybe lost someone they loved or cared for. Some people are not affected by grief because maybe it's someone they didn't care a lot about or didn't know that person well enough for them to care. Maybe they weren't affected because that person did accomplish their dreams and maybe s/he did their "job" on Earth.
