x = 2y - 21 (3)

Multiply (1) by 2 times:

-10x = 2y - 10 (4)

Use (4) - (3)

- x = 2y - 21

-11x = -10 + 21

-11 x = 11

x = -1

Apply x = -1 in (1)

-5*(-1) = y - 5

5 = y-5

y = 5+5

y = 10

So x = -1

y = 10
