= [tex]40+700[/tex]

= 740

Now the two decimals that are equivalent to this can be many. Like -

[tex]40.0+700.0[/tex]

= 740.0

or [tex](0.4\times100)+(0.7\times1000)[/tex]

= 40+700

= 740
