Because The Middle Colonies had rich, fertile plentiful farmlands, had favorable climatic conditions, and lengthy growing season. There were also rich people that owned big portions of land they used as plantations and farms. The main crops they grew were tobacco, indigo, and rice. These plantations relied on slavery work to produce cash crops and were exported.
