What is the equation of a line that goes through the point (3, 12) and is perpendicular to the line given by the equation y = -1/3x - 7?

y = -3x - 12
y = -1/3x + 6
y = 3x + 3
y = (1/3x) - 6

Y=3x+3

Perpendicular lines have the product of their gradients =-1
since gradient of line 1 =-1/3
then  gradient of line 2 is
-1/3*m=-1
m=3
