if i didn't understand it wrong, * is (3-5) x (2)

so,

(3-5)x 2-16-2

=-2x2-16-2

=-4-16-2

= -22

But if * means (3-5)^2 -16-2

then its,

(3-5)^2-16-2

=(-2)^2 -18

=4-18

= - 14

But looks like both of them are not in your choice at all
