The correct answer is option (b) 4 units

How to solve this problem?

[tex]y=\tan ((\pi )/(4)(x-(\pi )/(3)))[/tex]

Use the form [tex]a tan(bx-c)+d[/tex]

  • a = 1
  • b =[tex]\pi /4[/tex]
  • c = [tex]\pi /3[/tex]
  • d = 0

The period of the function can be calculated by using [tex]\frac{\pi }{b}[/tex]

now replace b by [tex]\pi /4[/tex]

Period =  [tex]\pi /\pi /4[/tex]

Hence the period is 4
