Step-by-step explanation:

okay so we know that the width is x

and the length is x + 12

so our equation is

2x + 2(x+12)=100

so if we simplify and combine like terms we get

4x+24=100

subtract 24 from both sides

4x = 76

divide by four

x = 19

so now we are going to plug that back in the equation

19 = width

31 = length

we multiply those by each other to get the are which is

589 cm is the area
