Solve the equation for x.
-x^2+14=10

-x^2 + 14 = 10

subtract 14 from each side

-x^2 = -4

divide each side by -1

x^2 =4

square root each side

x = 2

-x^2= -4 then cancels the minus signs on both sides and square root the 4
