The Pythagorean Theorem says that a^2 + b^2 = c^2  where a and b are the two legs.  

In this care leg 1 is 4 and leg two is the square root of 50. So we will square them to find c which is the hypotenuse.

16 +  50 = c^2

  66 = c^2

    c =[tex]\sqrt{66}[/tex]
