We are being asked here to convert the length of a copper wire in the units of centimeters to the units of meters. We need a conversion factor to multiply to the value in order to obtain it's equivalent in meters. From the SI unit system, we know that in 1 meter there are 100 centimeters. Therefore,

1.6 cm ( 1 m / 100 cm ) = 0.016 m
