What does the building of the pyramids tell us about Egyptian society?

Well for starters the pyramids were build as tombs for the pharaohs (who were considered gods on earth) but the pure fact that they built these shows us that they had mathematical formulas to construct these, the slaves to build them and also that they built them to last. They built them to last because they were surrounded by a desert and for hundreds of years no one ever crossed the desert and found them.
