A kettle of water is heated on a stove. What will happen to the molecules of the water in the kettle as the kettle continues to be heated by the flame?

Answer:

The molecules will take the heat energy and convert it to mechanical energy and they get "excited" and eventually their bonds will break and they will turn into water vapor.
