they are similar because both have one person i charge but in a dictatorship power is often kept through violence while monarchs have their pwoer handed to them
A dictatorship is someone who assumes control and has total control this is the same with the monarch there is a king and queen in control. However with a monarchy there is parliament that can make some choices.
