4 to the power 6 is 4x4x4x4x4x4
6 to the power 4 is 6x6x6x6

4^6 or 4 to power of 6 is 4 multiplied 6 times.  or 4*4*4*4*4*4=4096
6^4 or 6 to the power of 4 is 6 multiplied 4 times or 6*6*6*6=1296
