6(x + 1) - 5x = 8 + 2(x - 1)
6x + 6 - 5x = 8 + 2x - 2
x + 6 = 6 + 2x
0 = x
So, x = 0

Answer:

[tex]x=0[/tex]

Step-by-step explanation:

we have

[tex]6(x+1)-5x=8+2(x-1)[/tex]

solve for x

[tex]6x+6-5x=8+2x-2[/tex]

Group terms that contain the same variable and move the constants to the other side

[tex]6x-5x-2x=8-2-6[/tex]

[tex]-x=8-8[/tex]

[tex]x=0[/tex]
