How did the environment most clearly affect the Jamestown colony?

Answer:

The environment affected the Jamestown colony by lowering the health and prosperity of the people and the land. Feces accumulated, the the water did not transport it away as expected. The land was hard, and the soil was poor. After much struggling, people had to resort to cannibalism as a failure to choose a good settlement.
