Meiosis cellular reproduction creates daughter cells which are not the same as the parent cells. This means that their genetic composition is different to their parents, meaning that their is genetic variation between the parent or daughter cells.
Mitosis cellular reproduction creates daughter cells which are identical to the parent cell. This means that their genetic composition is the same as the parents, meaning that there is no genetic variation between the parent or daughter cells.
