Answer: x=60

Steps:

First, distribute the 1/2

1/2x + 5 = 2/3x -5

Next, move all the like variables to one side by subtracting 2/3x from both sides.

-1/6x + 5 = -5

Subtract 5 from both sides

-1/6x = -10

Isolate the c by dividing both sides by -1/6

x=60
