Given:

Consider the equations are

[tex]3x+4y=7[/tex]

[tex]4x+3y=9[/tex]

To find:

The value of x-y.

Solution:

We have,

[tex]3x+4y=7[/tex]        ...(i)

[tex]4x+3y=9[/tex]        ...(ii)

Subtracting (i) from (ii), we get

[tex]4x+3y-(3x+4y)=9-7[/tex]

[tex]4x+3y-3x-4y=2[/tex]

[tex](4x-3x)+(3y-4y)=2[/tex]

[tex]x-y=2[/tex]

Therefore, the value of x-y is 2.
