2(2x + 3) = -4 + 2(2x + 5)
Divide both sides by 2
2x + 3 = -2 + (2x + 5)
Add 2 to both sides
2x + 3 + 2 = 2x + 5
2x + 5 = 2x + 5
Subtract 5 from both sides
2x = 2x
Divide both sides by 2
x = x

This means x can equal anything I believe.
