The sum of a negative number, 1/4 of the negative number and 7/16 of the negative number is -13 1/2. What is the negative number

Let, the number = x
So, it would be: -x - x/4 - 7x/16 = -13 1/2
= -27x/16 = -27/2
= 27x = 27*16 /2
= x = 216 / 27
= x = 8

So, the number number was -8
