So for a, the y-intercept would be positive 2 (first equation) and the slope would be 3/1. When you graph the y-intercept, which you have to do first, you can use the slope to figure out the line. The same thing would happen with the second equation. -8 is the y-intercept and -2/1 is the slope. (Negative slope would be, in this case, down 2 right 1)
