The sum of more than two consecutive whole numbers is always an odd number ? Give examples

If you sum these two numbers up, you get 2n + 1. 2n will always give you an even number. Adding a 1 to any even number will always give you an odd. Therefore, a sum of any pair of consecutive numbers is always odd.

Example, 4 + 5 = 9; –8 + (–7) = –15.
