Answer:

In glycolysis a separate enzyme (Hexokinase) adds a phosphate onto Glucose and is ATP dependent. The reaction catalyzed by Glucose-6-Phosphatase is a hydrolysis which in water is extremely difficult to reverse- because water is in very high concentration.
