What is the value of the expression 2x^2 + 3xy -4y^2 when x = 2 and y = -4

all you are being asked to do is a simply substitution and then evaluate the answer 

[tex]2\times 2^2 + 3\times2\times(-4) - 4\times (-4)^2[/tex]

type it into your calculation the way I have written it, to get your answer.
