y=mx+b
m=slope
b=y intercept

first find slope

the sloe of the line that passes through the points (x1,y1) and (x2,y2) is
(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)
so the slope of the line that passes through the points (-2,6) and (2,14) is
(14-6)/(2-(-2))=(8)/(2+2)=8/4=2

slope is 2
y=2x+b
find b by subsituting a point

(2,14)
x=2 and y=14
14=2(2)+b
14=4+b
minus 4 both sides
10=b

so the equation is y=2x+10
