This is the concept of algebra;
m-=2+m
the above can be written as:
m*(-1)=2+m
-m=2+m
collecting like terms we get:
-2m=2
to solve for m we multiply both sides by -1/2
thus;
-1/2*-2m=2*-1/2
m=-1
therefore the number to be multiply was -1/2
