Explanation: Because they were convinced that the settlers would accept such taxation without any problem, however the latter felt so upset and dissatisfied that they had to pay high taxes on some products such as paper, sugar, and leather. This is how the British Government reduced the price of tea, and exempted this product from paying tax to be sold in the colonies with a price much lower than that of smugglers.
